چکیده

In this paper, distributed relay diversity systems are analyzed, modeled and evaluated in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based networks. The investigated distributed relay diversity schemes extend the ideas of a single hop transmit antenna schemes such as Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD), Space Time Transmit Diversity (STTD), transmit Coherent Combining (CC) and Selection Diversity (SD) to distributed diversity systems. In contrast to the classical single hop system, the antennas in the distributed systems belongs to distributed relays instead of being co-located at the transmitter. The distributed relay diversity methods considered in this paper: Relay CDD (RCDD), Relay Alamouti (i.e.STTD), Relay CC (RCC) and Relay SD (RSD) are compared to the traditional 1-hop system. Analytical expressions for the received Signal to Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) are derived and used in a dynamic multi-cell multi-user simulator. Results show considerable SINR gains for both Round Robin and Max-SINR schedulers. The SINR gains translate into substantial cell throughput gains, up to 200%, compared to 1-hop systems. Despite its low complexity, the RCDD scheme has similar performance to that of other more sophisticated 2-hop schemes such as Relay Alamouti and Relay Coherent Combining. Marginally better results are observed for the Relay Selection Diversity scheme.

Distributed IDM-STC versus OFDM-CDD in Two-Hop Relay-Networks

This paper investigates the performance of two diversity techniques for relay networks with the Amplify-Forward (AF) protocol. A distributed Interleave-Division-Multiplexing Space-Time Code (IDM-STC) is compared with Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD) in an OFDM based system. The aim of this paper is to figure out advantages and drawbacks of these two quite different approaches for various scenarios....

Cooperative Orthogonal Space-Time-Frequency Block Codes over a MIMO-OFDM Frequency Selective Channel

In this paper, a cooperative algorithm to improve the orthogonal space-timefrequency block codes (OSTFBC) in frequency selective channels for 2*1, 2*2, 4*1, 4*2 MIMO-OFDM systems, is presented. The algorithm of three node, a source node, a relay node and a destination node is formed, and is implemented in two stages. During the first stage, the destination and the relay antennas receive the sym...

Diversity Analysis for Relay-Assisted Distributed BICM-OSTBC- OFDM System

Maximum spatial-frequency diversity can be achieve by combining bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM), orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in frequency selective multi-path fading channels, provided that perfect channel state information (CSI) is available to the receiver. In view of the fact that perfect CSI can be obtained only if...

Semi-Distributed Resource Allocation Based on Multihop Equilibrium for Cellular OFDM-Relay Networks

A semi-distributed resource allocation scheme based on multihop equilibrium is proposed for OFDM-relay networks. This method aims to reduce the amount of feedback information from the relay nodes (RNs). Moreover, it utilizes radio resource by striking an efficient balance between the capacities of the BS-RN link and RN-MS link. Simulation results show that the proposed semi-distributed scheme a...

Optimal Power Management to Minimize SER in Amplify and-Forward Relay Networks

This paper studies optimal power allocation to minimize symbol error rate (SER) of amplify-and-forward cooperative diversity networks. First, we analytically solve optimal power allocation problem to minimize SER for three different scenarios, namely, multi-branch single-relay, single-branch multi-relay and multi-branch multi-relay cooperative diversity networks, all subject to a given total re...
